A bright, tiny garden favourite, looking blue, pale green or light yellow according to the angle of view and light; usually looks plainer at a distance, brighter and more contrasted at close range. 

Deciduous woods with abundant caterpillars in spring provide the best breeding habitats for the Blue Tit. It also nests in gardens, often in nest boxes, but most suburban plots do not provide enough insect food for really successful breeding and brood sizes are consequently rather small.
