A minute woodland bird that combines some features of warblers and tits. It is oblivious to human presence, especially in autumn and winter when foraging low down in bushes and undergrowth.

Tiny, fearless, often indeed simply ignoring people, the Goldcrest is a familiar bird of coniferous trees and thickets. It likes parks and gardens with yews and ornamental firs, and woods with spruce and silver fir.
